I could not sleep last night. I was so nervous about dropping her off at day care, about going back to work. We survived our first day... I woke up early , got her ready, got ready myself, fed her... all with a lump on my throat. I wanted to cry, but I contained my tears because I want to pass to her the confidence that everything will be okay. So off we went, 7:30 we we there, the caregiver was waiting for us. Lyla was awake and on her best behavior, smiling, just happy. I brought all her stuff in, went over again all we talked about before: she eats 5 oz, she needs to be burped in between, she sleeps on her back, she likes the swing, she likes the pacifier... She was getting sleepy so I decided to put her on the crib and wait until she fall asleep. In 2 mim she was sleeping peacefully. I kissed her good buy, reassured her that Dad would be back to pick her up ;ater, that we love her (I know, I know, she does not understand it). I was at the door , but I had to go back to give her another kiss. Mrs. M told me to feel free to call whenever ( I am glad she said that). I cried a little on my way to work but overall I felt good. Work was busy, I was glad to be back but I could not stop thinking about her. I restrained from calling until nap time. I called and Mrs. M said she was very impressed, Lyla was a great baby. She slept for 1 hour after I left , woke up happy, had her bottle , stayed awake for a while on the swing and she was napping when I called. DH picked her up at 3 pm and 6 pm I was home... I kissed her so much, hugged her and got "drunk" with her baby smell.
I hope that tomorrow goes well again. I already picked up her outfit for tomorrow, packed her bag. She is now peacefully sleeping. I am tired, but happy.
